During my childhood in the 1960's, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was my second favorite book.

The only books (I realize that the use of the plural here makes no sense) I liked better were the Alice books by Lewis Carroll. I tend to think of those as a singular thing, even if they aren't.

So there.

I would simply be thrilled if I ever got to illustrate Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and this is my idea of Veruca Salt.
